July 11th - Venus in Leo

We all got a little taste of Leo season with the appetizer of Mercury en Lion, on July 2nd. But the tasting menu has just begun. We will slowly sizzle our way into the main course of Leo season.

On July 11th, seductive Venus will glide into Leo, heating up romance and making us crave passion and affection. We may find ourselves more generous, showering others with kindness and tokens of admiration. This bold and courageous energy will influence matters of the heart, channeling into love for others, self-love, or a deeper connection with the divine.

By July 22nd, we will have the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Leo. That’s a lot of bold, dynamic, and spicy energy. Let’s ensure the pressure cooker’s seals and valves are working optimally to avoid drama and theatrics, and a potential explosion, especially if faced with negative feedback.

July 15th - Mars conjunct Uranus in Taurus

Uranus, the “Great Awakener,” has been in Taurus since 2018 and will remain until 2026. Known for its rebellious nature, Uranus pushes boundaries, striving for individuality, liberation, and challenging traditional norms and values. Taurus, a fixed sign, resists disruption to its sensual, peaceful, and materialistically comfortable status quo.

Since 2018, you may have felt challenges shaking your foundation in Taurean-ruled areas such as finances, material possessions, property ownership, consumption, dieting, eating habits, and even self-esteem.

Now, with Mars entering the mix, there's an injection of drive and assertiveness into Uranus's rebelliousness and innovation. This combination often heralds sudden changes, breakthroughs, and a burst of revolutionary energy. This powerful meetup occurs once every two years.

Some of the most memorable conjunctions of these two planets include:

  • On April 12, 1861 – with Mars conjunct Uranus in the sky – Confederate batteries opened fire and the American Civil War began.

  • On August 6, 1945 – with Mars again conjunct Uranus in the sky – the U.S B-29 Superfortress, Enola Gay, dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese industrial city of Hiroshima.  The city was leveled with an estimated 100,000 people killed instantly. Another 100,000 died later from radiation sickness and burns.

  • On August 9, 1945, just 3 days later, a second bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki.

  • 2011’s Arab Spring also includes a Uranus/Mars conjunction as well.

As an aside, this  would not be an ideal date for surgery,  as surgeons and knives are ruled by Mars .  And conjunct Uranus seems dicey.

July 21st - The Blue Buck Full Moon

Blue Moons occur approximately every 33 months. It's considered a Blue Moon when two full moons happen consecutively in the same sign.

  • First Capricorn Full Moon: We experienced on Friday, June 21st, at 1 degree Capricorn.

  • Second Capricorn Full Moon: We will witness on Sunday, July 21st, this time at the anaretic degree of 29 Capricorn.

Full Moons signify a time of release and culmination. The moon reaches its peak fullness, and as it begins to wane, we are encouraged to let go of what we have accomplished and no longer need.

This particular full moon is known as the Buck Moon, named for the time of year when bucks begin to grow new antlers.

The fact that this moon is at an anaretic degree - known as the degree of fate and karma—and is making multiple aspects to other planets at or near the same degree, suggests that something significant is about to come to an end, be completed, or released.

  • Conjunct Pluto retrograde at 1 degree Aquarius, this moon is preparing for Pluto's final visit to Capricorn from September 2, 2024, until November 20, 2024. After November 20th, Pluto won't return to Capricorn for over 200 years. This signifies a significant farewell to something in your Capricorn house, which has been through a transformative journey.

  • Capricorn is universally connected to authority figures, fame, karma, standards, and career. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn , is diligent and dedicated to success, often representing the father figure in astrology. Capricorns are ambitious, practical, disciplined, and sometimes pessimistic and stubborn. Physically, Capricorn rules the skeletal system, bones, joints, and teeth. In mundane astrology, it governs heads of state, government, and a country's prestige. Therefore, we may observe culminations and releases in these areas.

  • Sextile Neptune retrograde at 29 degrees Pisces: Neptune began its retrograde journey on July 3rd at 30 degrees Pisces and will continue retrograding until February 2025. It will then enter Aries on March 21, 2025, but will retrograde back into Pisces for the final time from October 23, 2025, to January 27, 2026. This indicates that in our Pisces house, we are beginning to let go of something, though the complete release may not occur until 2025-2026.

  • Universally, Pisces rules creativity, spirituality, boundaries (or their absence), illusions, and addictions. Physically, Pisces governs the feet, toes, and mucous membranes. In mundane astrology, it rules prisons, hospitals, geriatric homes, secret societies, philanthropy, and institutional religion. Expect significant activity in one or more of these areas on a collective level.

  • Out of Sign Trine with Mars & Mars trine Pluto  Mars, at 1 degree Gemini, forms an out-of-sign trine with the Moon by 1 degree. This aspect provides courage and confidence with emotional support from the Moon. Additionally, Mars trines Pluto (which is conjunct the Moon), indicating a powerful surge from Pluto. The Pluto-Mars trine is a leadership aspect, aiding in confidently navigating challenging situations.

  • Wide Trine with Uranus As noted previously, Uranus symbolizes innovation, sudden change, and forward-thinking. When this energy aligns with the Moon’s emotions, instincts, and subconscious, it brings emotional clarity.

We are undeniably on a journey of leaving behind a person, place, and/or behavior. This process has been ongoing, and in the universe’s beautifully synchronistic way, on the final day of Cancer season, with a blue full moon at the anaretic degree of Cancer, our emotions and subconscious are being beautifully supported by trines with Uranus and Mars, along with a sextile from Neptune.

With Pluto conjunct the Moon, and as the first of the three transcendental planets (Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus) to make its last appearance in the sign it has been transiting, this may indicate the initial phase of a significant change. This is likely the hardest hurdle to clear. However, we now possess the emotional fortitude and power to make these changes stick before the shifts Neptune's full ingress into Aries (January 2026) and Uranus's full ingress into Gemini (April 2026) bring.

So take this respite to breathe!

And remember: Liberation is letting go!

On July 22nd, the Sun enters Leo and joins Venus and Mercury, giving us a sense of being more fully anchored into our bolder, brighter new beginning after some major contemplation and pivots. We start to feel more confident in the changes we've adopted and our first steps toward a new way of being.

Pat yourself on the back; be bold, be courageous, and most importantly, put your new self out there this Leo season.

Blessings,

Brenda
