Aquarius Super Full Moon vs. Leo Sun: Uranus in Taurus Caught in the Cosmic Crossfire
Dates and Cosmic Happenings
August 14th - Mars conjunct Jupiter in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces.
August 14-September 10th - Mercury retrogrades and stations direct in Leo. Whatever transpired (while Mercury traversed 21-30 degrees Leo) from July 17th to July 25th will likely be revisited between August 14th thru September 10th.
August 19th - This Super Full moon’s ruler Uranus (in Taurus) is the apex of the Aquarius Moon, Leo Sun/Mercury Rx conjunct T-square.
Now is the time to gradually weave the insights we’ve gained during the Lion’s Gate and its supportive Leo New Moon into our lives. There's no better moment to gently explore their merits and ability to withstand the winds of change than during the tensions stirred by the Mars/Jupiter conjunction squaring Saturn and the Super Full Moon T-Square.
Mars conjunct Jupiter in Gemini squaring Saturn in Pisces
This can be a powerful transit if you navigate it wisely. When these two planets align, they form a dynamic duo, but with mixed potential. Jupiter is the visionary, full of ideas—"Go Big or Go Home!"—while Mars is the force that drives those ideas into action—"Just Do It!"
So, what’s the catch?
Saturn squaring these two planets is like hitting the brakes on that exuberant "Go Get 'em!" attitude. Saturn’s influence urges us to pause and ensure we’re not turning a parking ticket into a murder case.
The key is to “slow your role to achieve your goal.” While it might feel frustrating, it’s ultimately in our best interest. With Mercury still retrograde, things might not be as clear as they seem.
Pay attention to where 16 degrees Gemini falls in your chart—that’s where you’ll feel the urge to push forward. The house hosting 18 degrees Pisces is where you’ll encounter resistance.
Remember, slowing down (with four planets in retrograde) isn’t necessarily a setback; it can be a blessing in disguise.
Mercury Retrogrades and Stations Direct in Leo - August 14 to September 10th
Between July 17 and July 25, certain discussions or thoughts emerged in the house ruled by Leo that will require a second and third look. The period from August 14 to September 10 is likely when these reviews will take place.
From August 14 to 30, Mercury will retrograde through 30 to 21 degrees of Leo for a second time. Then, two days later, from September 1 to 10, Mercury stations direct and moves forward again from 22 to 30 degrees Leo for the third and final pass. This should ideally resolve the issue once and for all, or at least for the foreseeable future.
In essence, expect this issue to resurface around August 14 and remain a point of focus until approx. September 10.
Aquarius Super Full Moon Challenges Uranus in Taurus: Bridging the Gap Between Personal Comfort and Personal Sacrifice for the Collective
Aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian—an air sign that seeks to circulate and connect (it also governs our circulatory system). The Moon in Aquarius reflects our emotional body and subconscious, but in this sign, emotions are processed intellectually. The Aquarius Moon is detached, cool, and aloof, placing the needs of the collective above the individual, always striving for the greater good.
In contrast, Leo is anything but cool and aloof. Bold, charismatic, and a bit self-absorbed, the Leo Sun craves the spotlight. Ruled by the Sun, Leo naturally believes everything should revolve around it.
These opposing forces, combined with the miscommunication of Mercury retrograde, are placing pressure on Uranus in Taurus, demanding a resolution. And when Uranus in Taurus responds, it’s likely to be groundbreaking.
Uranus entered Taurus in 2018 (the first time since 1935-1942, during WWII and the Great Depression) and will stay there until 2026. Uranus pushes for change, while Taurus resists it at every turn. Taurus rules over money, self-esteem, values, work, material security, farming, food supply, earthquakes, the arts, and music. Since Uranus' ingress into Taurus, we’ve witnessed radical shifts in all these areas.
In an insightful article by David Odyssey on the Effects of Uranus in Taurus some of these transformations were highlighted. Here are a few excerpts:
The discourse around the current climate crisis has narrowed in on the bull’s trenchant gluttony, entitlement and inability to change. Can we collectively achieve a Taurean impossibility: convincing human beings to compromise their entitlement for the greater good?
Of course, for standards of human decency to improve, so that, say, our meat doesn’t have to be processed by underpaid, uninsured workers with no rights, Uranus will force Taurus to part with its creature comforts, and to question the consequences of a gentrified standard of living.
No discussion of Taurean themes would be complete without considering cold, hard cash, which, over this transit, undergoes a literal metamorphosis. Even if NFTs and crypto prove to be fads, the value of money will never be the same. Nor will previous assumptions around work and compensation. In the limited support people received from their leaded officials and employers during lockdown; the rise of digital entrepreneurship, self-merchandising, and self-published erotica through sites like OnlyFans; and in the growing public disinterest to return to office culture, Uranus has made individuals question why they’ve settled for the abuses of corporate life and capitalist labor, what their talents are worth, and how they believe they should be compensated.
With Uranus at the apex of this Super Full Moon’s T-square, we can anticipate a glaring light to shine on balancing individual entitlement, comfort, and complacency with individual self-sacrifice for the collective good. Whatever surfaces during this full moon is likely to provoke a radical response.
However, with four planets in retrograde, including Mercury (which aspects this full moon), the safest approach to change is slow and measured. As we navigate through the mix of facts and misinformation, it's important to be patient with ourselves and others. The planet of rebellion, revolution, and sudden change is being challenged by the Moon and Sun, making this a time of instability. This is of particular importance as all 3 signs are fixed, stubborn, and resistant to change.
By mid-September, clarity will emerge, and we should feel more grounded regarding the directions, insights, or changes initiated during the Lion’s Gate and Leo New Moon. The full moon, combined with Mercury retrograde, offers the ideal opportunity to assess their current viability. A gentle soft launch at this time may create space for feedback and further refinement, helping us to better align our new thoughts, intentions, or ways of being with our true purpose.
May our inner balance keep us steady as life’s tectonic plates shift beneath our feet.
Blessings,
Brenda
